Interview: Abby Reign Talk's About Her Latest Single "Louder"!

Upcoming music sensation Abby Reign recently released the brand new single “Louder” & has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her latest release, as well as getting to know more about the artist herself.

Hey Abby, thank you so much for agreeing to this interview. Can you start by introducing yourself to our readers?

Abby: First, thank you so much for having me! My name is Abby Reign, I was born & raised in small-town Nebraska, but now I am a recording artist here in Nashville TN.

When did you first fall in love with performing & knew that it was a career that you wanted to pursue?

Abby: I’ve wanted to be a performer for as long as I can remember, it’s kinda insane. My parents were both musically inclined, so I’ve always been around it. One of my favorite pictures is me around 5 years old, dressed up in my play clothes, using my E-kara for a microphone & putting on a show for my dolls! From there I was in my first musical by 2nd grade, and I was in love. There’s nothing like it.

You recently released your brand new single “Louder”, which sounds amazing. How did the inspiration behind this single come together?

Abby: Thank you so much! I actually wrote the lyrics to louder a few years ago. I was in one of the darkest periods of my life & I had a lot of anxiety. My mentor in college told me to try my hand at writing to get all of the emotions out, so that’s what I did. I wrote about how anxiety feels like I’m drowning, and trying to get to the top.

What does the song personally mean to you?

Abby: This song means so much to me. It’s my own mental health anthem to myself. Also, it was the very first song I sat down to write. I always thought I couldn’t write, but when I opened myself up to the thought, I wrote this song so fast & have been going ever since.

What message would you like listeners to take away from the song?

Abby: I want listeners to find comfort in this song. Everyone can relate to louder somehow, we’re all going through something. Growing up, music was my escape & where I didn’t feel lonely anymore, and I want to be that for someone else.

Do you have any current plans for new music releases in the future?

Abby: I do! My producer and I just sat down & co-wrote a new song & are getting started on it ASAP. It’s something a little different than louder, but I’m so excited for everyone to hear it!!

When you are not performing, what do you like to get up to in your spare time?

Abby: I spend a lot of time at concerts, watching movies & just spending time with my friends in general. I’ve always been an Emo kid, and we have what they call “emo nights”. You can find one somewhere in Nashville almost weekly, so my friends and I like to get all dressed up & go to those. It’s such a blast, and gives me life!

Can you recall the first album you brought & do you still listen to it now?

Abby: Speaking of emo days, the first album I can remember buying, with my own money, was My Chemical Romance, The Black Parade. Ughhh, such a great album, even today. I remember playing it every night for years and falling asleep to it, such a weird lullaby, but it worked! I still listen to that album all the time.

If you could perform a duet with anyone in the world, who would it be & why?

Abby: Probably Kelly Clarkson, or Demi Lovato. I grew up listening to both of them. Being a belter myself, there’s nothing more empowering then seeing two amazing ladies being true to themselves & straight KILLING it. Even meeting them would be such an honor.

What advise would you give to anyone looking to pursue a career in music?

Abby: Don’t give up. As cheesy as it sounds, don’t listen to anyone else. If it’s something you want to do, go for it. I had soo many people doubt me, and tell me to give up. But, what has happened in the last year, is soo much more than what I ever expected to happen, and it’s such a dream. I have no plans on stopping any time soon, and neither should you!

Finally, anything you would like to say to the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

Abby: To the readers, I just want to say a huge thank you! Artists would be nothing without you. We do what we do for ya’ll & will never be able to thank you enough for the support you give us.
