Interview: Christina Taylor Discusses The Brand New Single “As Good As You Look”!

With a vast selection of stunning musical releases to her name, including “Setting Myself On fire”, “Don’t Look Good In Your T-Shirt Anymore”, “That Girl”, and “Loser”. Upcoming country music sensation Christina Taylor has swiftly been establishing a name for herself within the music scene.

This talented artist has now teamed-up alongside Country music star Brett Kissel to release the engaging new single “As Good As You Look”.

Christina has kindly taken some time to answer a few questions regarding her latest single & getting to know more from the artist behind the music. You can read what she had to say below.

Hey Christina, thank you so much for this interview. Can you start by telling us a little it about yourself?

Thank y’all so much for having me! My name is Christina Taylor, and I am a country singer/songwriter currently residing in Nashville, TN.

When did you first discover your passion for singing & knew that it was a career that you wanted to pursue?

I have been in love with singing and performing for as long as I can remember, but started taking it seriously when I was about 16 years old.

You have just released your brand new single “As Good As You Look”, featuring Brett Kissel. Can you tell us how the inspiration for the single came together?

Yes, the song is something I think everyone can relate to. It is about seeing somebody who is very obviously attractive and wondering if they’re as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside. We wanted to write something super fun and upbeat!

What does the single personally mean to you?

I think this single is all about having fun! I wanted to put something out that everyone could dance to and be care free while listening to it. The type of song you put on full blast in the care with the windows down. And I think that’s exactly what we delivered!

How did the idea come about for you & Brett to record this as a duet?

We have a mutual business partner, and when I showed this business partner the song we both knew it was great. But we also knew there was something missing. And that’s when they suggested I let Brett hear the song and see if he’d be interested in being on it with me. And the rest is history!

Are there any upcoming tour dates to accompany the release of this single?

I get to play a show in my hometown of Charlotte, NC on November 1st at a venue called The Evening Muse. I’m super excited that I get to go home and play a show! Other than that I am really focusing on writing right now and trying to come up with the best songs I can for 2020. I’m hoping to get out on the road more next year though!

What do you like to get up to in your spare time? Any hobbies?

I LOVE working out. I think it is super therapeutic and fun, and I like to fit in a workout about 5-6 days per week.

What was the last TV show that you binge-watched? Did you enjoy it?

The last show I binge watched was the new season of Peeky Blinders. I love the series!!

What was the first album you ever bought & do you still listen to it now?

The first album I ever bought was a Britney Spears album, but I can’t remember which one specifically. I still rock out to Britney and am still a huge fan of hers!

If you could travel to any country in the world, where would you go & why?

I would love to travel to Switzerland! All the pictures I’ve seen are so gorgeous and definitely give me FOMO.

Who is your biggest musical influence?

I have two. Eric Church and P!nk. They are so unapologetic about the things they say and so raw. I’ve always looked up to them for that and hope I can do the same thing with my music.

What is the best piece of advice that someone has given you about following a career in the music industry?

“You aren’t better than anybody else, but no one is better than you”. I think this is a reminder that everyone brings something to the table, and this is something I have to remind myself of every day.
