INTERVIEW: Kinsey Rose Talks About The New Single “Speed Of A Broken Heart”!

Following her appearance on season 21 of NBC’s The Voice, Country singer-songwriter Kinsey Rose unveils the emotional new anthem “Speed Of A Broken Heart”.

Co-written alongside Chris Roberts, & Grammy-winning Songwriter Marcus Hummon, “Speed Of A Broken Heart” centres around the growth that can come from immense heartbreak.

Kinsey has kindly taken the time to chat with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution regarding the inspiration behind this incredible new single, along with her experience of participating in season 21 of NBC’s The Voice. You can find the full interview below.

Hey Kinsey, thank you for this interview. Can you start by telling readers who might be unfamiliar with your music a little about yourself?

Kinsey: I grew up in Kentucky and started playing music at a young age. I was ten years old when I started playing piano and guitar and began writing songs. I fell in love with Country music when I was around sixteen and started to write Country songs and self-produced many songs. I started to make trips to Nashville to write with different writers and learned a lot about the music industry.

When did you first discover your passion for music?

Kinsey: I was around ten years old when I wrote my first song and I remember thinking it was the coolest thing ever. So from then on, I started writing and creating music.

Have you always wanted to pursue a career within the music industry?

Kinsey: I always knew I wanted to create music.  At a young age, I wasn’t thinking about careers I just wanted to make music. I somehow found a way to do both, create music and also make it my living. It has been a lot of work and continues to be a lot of work but I wouldn’t want to do anything else!

How would you currently describe your musical style?

Kinsey: I have a lot of Country elements in my music. I would say I have an old Country soul with a modern-day twist.

You just released your new single “Speed Of A Broken Heart”. How did the idea for this song come together?

Kinsey: At the time this song was written, I was going through a break-up of a seven-year-long relationship. So when I walked into the writing room with Marcus Hummon and Chris Roberts I was open and honest with what was happening in my life and this song came together.

You co-wrote this song alongside Chris Roberts & Grammy-winning Songwriter Marcus Hummon. How did the idea to collaborate alongside Chris & Marcus come together?

Kinsey: The idea came about after talking about what was happening in my life at the moment. We started with a groove and wrote the chorus and everything seemed to eventually fall into place.

Did you always plan to release “Speed Of A Broken Heart” as a single?

Kinsey: My hope was to release this as a single or to add it on an album. But I plan to release singles throughout the year.

What does this song personally mean to you?

Kinsey: This is a song that is about something I lived through. The ending of a seven-year relationship. It’s a time in my life that was painful but I got through it and moved on.

If listeners could take something from this song what would you like it to be?

Kinsey: I hope it’s a song that can also help others deal with emotions from a breakup. And to know it’s not the end, it takes time to grieve but we can all eventually move on.

This song follows your appearance on NBC’S The Voice season 21. What inspired you to enter The Voice?

Kinsey: I’ve always thought it would be a great experience to be on “The Voice.”  I loved the experience and the exposure that it gave me and I made some lifelong friends.

How would you describe your experience of appearing on the show?

Kinsey: It was such a fun experience! It taught me how to handle being nervous, especially with all the excitement.

What advice would you offer to someone who was looking to apply for a show like The Voice?

Kinsey: I would say just be yourself and stay true to who you are!

What advice would you offer to someone who was looking to pursue a career within the music industry?

Kinsey: I would say there’s no wrong or right way to go about it. Everyone I know who succeeds in this business paves their own road in their own way and finds a way to make a living off of music. Stay creative and stay strong!

Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

Kinsey: Thank you for checking out my new single! I hope you will enjoy and stay tuned for what’s to come next!
