INTERVIEW: Hannah Anders Discusses Her Country Twist On A Classic Fairytale “Redneck Riding Hood”!

Highly acclaimed Country-Rock singer-songwriter Hannah Anders is swiftly making her presence felt on the music scene through energetically charging anthems that instantly draw your complete attention.

Having performed at many events such as CMA Fest, Summer Fest, & Country Thunder, Hannah is winning hearts from coast to coast but is not exclusive to the US as she has taken the stage by storm across the pond in the UK with sold-out shows.

Not long ago, Hannah released the new single “Redneck Riding Hood” (written by Megan Conner, Jon Conley, & John Stea), which portrays sass & empowerment.

Hannah has kindly taken the time to talk with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution regarding the release. You can find the full interview below.

Hey Hannah, thank you so much for this interview. Can you start by introducing yourself to readers unfamiliar with your music?

Hannah: Thank you so much for the interview! Absolutely. I’m a country rocker at heart who loves to combine the stories of country music and the vibe of a high-energy rock show. I’ve been singing and performing for what feels like my entire life, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

When did you first discover your passion for music?

Hannah: My mom will tell you that I literally sang before I spoke. I come from a very musical family. All of my cousins and I would sing together, my parents have beautiful singing voices, and my grandmother was my first piano teacher…it was in my blood from day one.

Have you always known that you wanted to pursue a career within the music industry?

Hannah: Yes, absolutely. I began performing at a very young age and writing songs in my early teens. I’ve been fairly laser focused on music for as long as I can remember.

How would you currently describe your musical style?

Hannah: Edgy, honest, and story-based.

You just released the new single “Redneck Riding Hood”. How did the idea for the song come together?

Hannah: This is one of the few songs I plan to release this year that I did not write. Every now and then you hear a song from another writer and it just needs to be celebrated. This was one of those songs. I loved the story, I loved the character, and I knew I had to bring her to life. Shout out to Megan Conner, Jon Conley, and John Stea for writing this incredible tune.

Did you always plan to release “Redneck Riding Hood” as a single?

Hannah: Yes. I knew I wanted it to be a single, and I knew I wanted to shoot a video.

How would you compare the creative process behind this song to some of your earlier releases?

Hannah: As you progress in your career you stop second-guessing yourself when it comes to your creative intuition. I always knew I wanted this to be a fun, sassy, badass character and I felt pretty fearless about bringing her to life when the time came.

What does this song personally mean to you?

Hannah: Any time a woman stands up for herself whether in parody or in real life, she stands up for women everywhere. Redneck Riding Hood takes no crap from everyone, and I love that.

If listeners could take something from this song, what would you like it to be?

Hannah: Rock your best outfit, strut your stuff, and take no s***.

Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

Hannah: Thank you for listening to my music and for your support. As an independent artist, it means everything to me to be able to share my art and my passion with you. If you’re feeling a little down today, channel your inner redneck riding hood. She’ll get you through 😉
