INTERVIEW: Ina Forsman Discusses The Upcoming Single “Love Me”!

On June 10th, Finnish songstress Ina Forsman will unveil the brand new single “Love Me” from her upcoming All There Is album, which will be released on June 24th via Jazzhaus Records.

This forthcoming release captures the feeling of saying, “I love you” for the first time. The track’s upbeat rhythm and old-fashioned arrangements will move your feet, but the composition’s moody blues will make your heart flutter.

Ina has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution regarding the journey behind the approaching single release, along with details regarding the eagerly awaited upcoming album. You can find the full interview below.

Hey Ina, thank you so much for this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?

Ina: I’m Ina Forsman, a Finnish Soul singer-songwriter living in Berlin. I’ve been doing music for the past 10 years, and toured mostly around Europe.

When did you first discover your passion for music?

Ina: Ever since I can remember I’ve been passionate about music. Since I was 6 years old I’ve dreamt of becoming a singer.

Have you always known that you wanted to pursue a career within the music industry?

Ina: Yes, like I said, since I was 6 years old I’ve dreamt of becoming a singer. Later on, I realized I wanted to also be a songwriter, and that’s when I started to write songs for my first album. Only recently, a few years ago, I decided I also want to be a musician, and I started to learn to play instruments like guitar and piano, as well as the mixing and production side of things. Nowadays I like to be as involved with my music as I possibly can!

How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?

Ina: My most recent music is a mix of old & modern Soul, with a cinematic atmosphere & a sprinkle of Blues, Jazz & RnB!

You are about to release the single “Love Me” on June 10th. How did the idea for this song come together & what does it mean to you?

Ina: I wrote the song about a specific night that’s very personal to me, but at the same time it’s a night that every person goes through at some point in their life. “Love Me” is a song built around the moment when you say “I love you” to someone for the first time. That’s that one moment when you believe that nothing could go wrong, and there’s an extra amount of magic and assurance in the air, assuming that the other person says it back of course. It’s a very sweet and hopeful song, with a real feel-good soul vibe.

If listeners could take anything away from this song, what would you like it to be?

Ina: I just hope it makes them feel good and makes them want to dance and let loose, especially when I play it live. Every time I hear or play the song, I’m reminded of the night I said “I love you” to the love of my life. It’s a sweet feeling that I’d love for other people to have as well.

This song is from your forthcoming album ‘All There Is’ on June 24th. What are some of the things that listeners can anticipate from this album?

Ina: ‘All There Is’ is an album of 10 songs, all made with the theme “cinematic soul”. You can expect powerful horn and string arrangements, whole lotta belting, growling and vocal runs, and a dynamic mix of soul bangers with a few ballads among them.

What are some of the things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Ina: Honestly, all of my spare time is somehow always connected to music. If it’s not playing, rehearsing or doing shows, I’m preparing and creating outfits for the shows, doing photoshoots, making social media content or planning a video shoot. I love to do all of it though, but being an artist can be very time consuming, haha. If I’m truly free, I just like to stay home, eat good food and hang out with some friends.

What three words best describe you?

Ina: Ambitious, kind, & passionate.

If you could possess any superpower, what would you choose & why?

Ina: I would choose flying, I always fly in my dreams so I’m pretty sure I would be great at it.

Who would you say is the biggest inspiration within your music?

Ina: It’s hard to say because I find inspiration everywhere in so many genres and artists, there’s not one biggest inspiration. For my new album, I’ve been especially inspired by 60s soul classics.

What advice would you offer to someone who was looking to pursue a career in the music industry?

Ina: Vision as specifically as possible, what kind of an artist you want to be. Then write down how you’re gonna make that happen. Then start working like crazy. Trust your own timeline and remember to enjoy the journey.

Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

Ina: Be kind, take care of your mental health, and go vegan. xxx
