With over 250,000 streams on Spotify alone, Upcoming twin sister duo KTY & CARLY have swiftly caught the attention of listeners & critics alike through their unapologetic take on life experiences & charismatically charged harmonies.

Now, this talented duo has unveiled the attitude-infused pop-punk track “Daddy’s Little Lawyer” & have kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution regarding their latest release & their forthcoming EP. You can check out the full interview below.

Hey KTJ & CARLY, thank you so much for this interview. Can you start by telling the
readers a little bit about yourselves?

CARLY: Hi! Thank you for having us. KTJ and I are identical twins who are originally from Texas and
currently live in Los Angeles pursuing music. We are songwriters, producers, and actors. We formed this band in 2019 after meeting our amazing manager who helped bring our vision to life.

Not too long after, the pandemic came and lots if not most of our projects has been during the
pandemic. We love to make music and we are in it so that a listener somewhere out there
doesn’t feel alone in their thoughts. It’s the same reason we listen to music and the same
reason we make it.

How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?

CARLY: I would say if Jojo and BANKS had a musical love child, it would be us lol. We make pop music,
but never like to keep ourselves boxed into one subgenre. For example, DLL was very punk-inspired and had a lot of influences from artists like Paramore, Weezer, and Avril Lavinge.

You have just released the brand-new single “Daddy’s Little Lawyer”. How did the idea for this song come together?

CARLY: We were writing this with our good friend Stefan. It started off just me talking about all my boy problems haha. There was someone who couldn’t commit after being in that talking stage for so long that I just stopped caring and moved on. And as it usually goes, that is when they are ready to commit lol. He is in law school right now, which coined the phrase daddy’s little lawyer. When we wrote it, we were in a really punk-pop mood and came up with some bar chords on the electric guitar. Then we just started writing as I explained the situation, and then KT and I took the demo home and produced it!

What is the main inspiration behind this brand new single?

KTJ: The classic “who can care less” game during breakups.

CARLY: I would say that the main inspiration for me when writing it was the power of becoming
indifferent.

How would you compare the creative process behind this single to your previous releases?

CARLY: I would say that the processes are all pretty similar lyrically in the aspect that it starts off with
just talking about life and then leads to a song in the end. In particular, this one is different in the
way that the guitar in the song is actually the same guitar we had in the demo. Usually, we cut
all the demo stuff off and change it up or redo it to something new, but we loved having it all
guitar and drums. So we just built the production around the guitar that Stefan played!

What does this song personally mean to each of you?

KTJ: For me, it’s just a reminder that money can’t buy happiness and to never settle for less than what you deserve.

CARLY: For me, I would say that this song is a symbol of knowing your worth. Not waiting around for
someone who is dragging you along. Not only that but to not let it get to you. It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with the other person. If someone can’t commit and you want to, then just move on. We are worth more than that.

If listeners could take something away from this song, what would you like it to be?

CARLY: You definitely deserve better than someone entitled who doesn’t treat you with respect. You are worth more than that.

This song looks set to feature on the forthcoming EP later this year. Can you give us a little insight into what we can expect from the EP?

KTJ: The EP is about shedding the ego, and finding what is left. I feel everything in this industry (and the rest of the world) is driven by ego, status, and money. The EP is about trying to kill your ego and the side effects of having an ego like depression and anxiety. At the end of the day, you can’t actually get rid of your ego, but you can learn to not let it get in your own way.

Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

KTJ & CARLY: Thank you for having us and reading! You guys deserve only the best; people always try to tell you that you aren’t enough but they are only trying to fill the hole in themselves so don’t listen to them. And go stream Daddy’s Little Lawyer! We hope that when you listen to it, you find some solace and have it remind you of your worth. ❤
