Hey Cooper, thank you so much for this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?

Cooper: Hello 👋 my pleasure. Happy to be talking to you ❤️ I was born and raised in Russia into a family of classical musicians and music was my life since I can remember. I started playing classical piano and harp, then developed passion for jazz, soul, gospel music and started singing. After winning dozens of singing contests I made a decision to become a professional singer and started my artist path. It was quite hard to create American music in Russia. So I released that through all the difficulties I have to pursue my dream. At the age of 19 I came to the U.S. to start from scratch.

When did you first discover your passion for music?

Cooper: I discovered my passion for music when I was two years old. I can’t remember that but my mom was telling me all the stories of my early childhood. When I was two I had my first big performance at Saratov Opera And Ballet House as part of Tchaikovsky’s Opera “The Queen of Spades“. I can remember little moments from that day but I felt a very strong energy from the audience and fell in love with being on stage. I’m so blessed to be born and raised in classical theatre, surrounded by the most iconic classical music of the world.

What is the first time you can recall performing in front of a live audience?

Cooper: My next performance was in musical college where I played a piano piece in front of a large audience. I remember it briefly but I felt such a strong reaction to my piano performance and felt this amazing energy again. On stage, I always felt needed.

Have you always known that a career within the music industry was something that you wanted to pursue?

Cooper: Yes. I loved other subjects in school like math, biology, English but quickly realized that nothing makes me happier than making music, singing, and being on stage.

How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?

Cooper: Pop. Love pop music. My pop has a lot of SOUL.

You recently released the new single “Head Over Heels”. How did the idea for this song come together?

Cooper: This song was originally written almost 9 years ago and I wasn’t as involved in the writing process back then. But the team of writers felt my vibe and wrote something that in 9 years I decided to bring back to life and refresh.

What does this song personally mean to you?

Cooper: I think this song is about enjoying spontaneous decisions in life. This is exactly what I am learning at the moment.

If listeners could take anything away from this song, what would you like it to be?

Cooper: Live today. Enjoy every moment. Stop overthinking. Be you.

Do you have any further musical releases planned that you are currently able to tell us about?

Cooper: Yes I’m working on an album. 💿

What are some of the things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Cooper: I love teaching voice development and breathing techniques. I discovered this passion three years ago and started travelling the world with master classes and sharing my knowledge. I got a chance to teach over 7000 people in 19 countries. I feel very blessed with this amazing experience.

If you could perform a duet with anyone on the planet, who would you choose & why?

Cooper: Beyoncé or Mariah Carey. My icons.

What song do you always keep on your playlist & why?

Cooper: Marvin Gaye “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”. This songs make me very happy. 😃

If you could possess one superpower, what would you choose & why?

Cooper: Flying. 🌎

What advice would you offer to someone looking to pursue a career within the music industry?

Cooper: You should find your thing. And do you. Do not chase any trend. Create your own.

Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

Cooper: Yes, I would love for everyone who’s reading this to trust your gut and keep dreaming. We need dreaming. We lose it in the harsh reality of thinking and not doing or acting. Dreaming is important for everyone. Keep dreaming. 💭
