Interview: Amanda Grace Discusses The Release Of Her Album ‘Please Dear Sun’!

Phenomenal singer-songwriter Amanda Grace has been releasing her brand new album ‘Please Dear Sun’ piece by piece during the 2020 winter months & has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her the journey behind the lead track behind this album. Find out what she had to say below.

Hey Amanda, thank you so much for agreeing to this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?

Amanda: I am a singer-songwriter and I manage/perform with three shows. Family shows, a rock band and a women’s folk band called Wildflower. I should say I NORMALLY do.

When did you first discover your passion for music?

Amanda: I have always loved writing songs and began at an early age on the piano and later began playing the guitar.

Have you always known that music was a career that you wanted to pursue?

Amanda: Yes and no. I think when I was younger I felt the calling to do it but it took many years of walking through self-doubt and other life challenges to really get started at it. I started and stopped many times.

How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?

Amanda: I think ’singer-songwriter’ is probably the best way to describe it. Each of my 7 albums are produced differently according to what I felt each one needed to feel complete. There are two children’s albums so of course, they are in a completely different genre/style than the other ones.

You have been releasing your new album ‘Please Dear Sun’ piece by piece during the winter months, with the lead track being of the same name. How did the idea to create the song come together?

Amanda: I was pretty down and reflective that day – it was in the spring toward the beginning of the pandemic. It is ultimately a gospel song; I was trying to reconnect to faith that day. I was sitting in the little bit of sunshine left in the day.

What message would you like listeners to take away from the song?

Amanda: We are spiritual beings. Sometimes we need to chill out, feel our feelings while also holding the hope of a good future and know we are loved.

What can listeners expect from this album?

Amanda: It is wild. No two songs will sound or be produced the same. I have folk, rock, gospel, blues all mixed up in this one but that felt right for 2020.

Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

Amanda: Take it one day at a time and care for your whole self during this time. You have something to give to the world, and its your job to figure out what it is, and not give up until you know you’ve done your best given the uncontrollable circumstances in your life.
