Upcoming country singer-songwriter Frankie Davies is about to release the heart-touching new single “If I Didn’t Love You” on the 26th November 2020.
Frankie has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her forthcoming release. Find out what she had to say below.
Hey Frankie, thank you so much for agreeing to this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?
Frankie: I am a singer-songwriter from Jersey in the Channel Islands but now I live in Cornwall. I’ve been writing songs since I was about 14 and been pursuing a music career since the age of 18. Ten years later I’m still releasing music and still loving every high and low.
When did you first discover your passion for music?
Frankie: When I first started writing songs, I realised that there was so much more to music than just singing.
What is the first song that you can recall performing in front of an audience & do you still sing it now?
Frankie: I think it was either Long Black Veil or San Francisco Bay Blues. Those songs were the first ones I learnt on the guitar, and I actually still perform San Francisco Bay Blues regularly in my sets.
Have you always known that music was a career that you wanted to pursue?
Frankie: Always. Stupidly, it’s something I’m not sure I’ll ever stop doing.
How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?
Frankie: I’d say my style is singer-songwriter with influences of country and folk.
You are about to release the brand new single “If I Didn’t Love You” on November 27th. How did the idea to create this song come together?
Frankie: I had this idea for this song for a while before it turned into the song that you’ll hear on the 27th! I wanted to write a song about the different ways in which we love – how love affects our lives and how it shapes us.
How would you compare the creative process behind this song, to your previous releases?
Frankie: This song had a similar process to my last release ‘Asking For A Friend’, because the lyrics have such a personal meaning. I wanted the lyrics to shine, so we kept the recording quite honest and raw with minimal instrumentation.
What does this song personally mean to you?
Frankie: For me, this song is about the different people I love in my life and how deeply I love them. I’ve never been that great at writing love songs but I knew this was an important song to persevere with.
If listeners could take away anything from this song, what would you like it to be?
Frankie: Hold the ones you love a little bit tighter.
Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?
Frankie: I really hope you like ‘If I Didn’t Love You’ and if you want to hear more, follow my Instagram and Facebook pages – I have some more new releases coming very soon!
