Rising music sensations Kelli and Kayla Iutzwig, a.k.a. Wild Fire, are set to release their brand new single “We Got The Summer” on May 22nd & have kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about their upcoming release.
Hey Wild Fire, thank you for agreeing to do this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?
Wild Fire: Hi Jess! Thank you so much for interviewing us. It’s great to talk to you again! We are a Pop Country, singer/songwriter sister duo out of Houston, Texas. We began singing at ages 5 and 6, taking professional lessons. We started our duo in 2016 at the ages of 11 and 12. Since the inception of Wild Fire, we have written and recorded three records, a number of singles, performed at various venues around Texas, and became Global Country Music Association Ambassadors for Women in Country Music. We are pursuing our passions and life is great. We always seek to help others through our music and love to engage with our fans. Outside of music we are avid health enthusiats and vegans. We love spending time with family and finding peace in the simple things in life.
How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?
Wild Fire: We believe we have carved out our own unique sound. We are a blend of country, pop and pop rock. We are very intentional with the direction of our sound and carefully select producers and engineers that get it and can help us craft the sound we are pursuing. Those that have never heard of us would really have to listen to the music to understand our sound.
You are about to release your brand new single “We Got The Summer” on May 22nd. How did the idea to create this single first come together?
Wild Fire: We definitely drew inspiration from our songwriting and recording trips in California. That’s where this idea came about. While there we visited the breathtaking beaches of Malibu, Santa Monica and Laguna Beach. We absolutely love the vibe there and it was a huge source of inspiration.
What would you consider to be the main influence behind the single?
Wild Fire: Summer love is always so fun, impulsive and carefree. We wanted to capture what that looks and feels like in a song. This idea was definitely our main influence behind the single.
How would you describe the creative process behind this song, compared to your previous releases?
Wild Fire: We both came up with this idea when visiting California. We wrote it on guitar and had much of the song written, but decided to pull in one of our favorite co-writers to help us make it even better. I think compared to past releases, we are much more of an open book with these new songs. We have also grown tremendously as songwriters because we have been writing so much and collaborating with so many co-writers.
What does the song personally mean to you?
Wild Fire: To us the song means you should take time to experience the exciting moments in life and not have your guard up all the time. You never know when a chance encounter could blossom into something incredible. Too many times we shut the door to possibilities that could have played out in our favor, potentially changing our lives for the better.
If listeners could take away one thing from this song, what would you like it to be?
Wild Fire: Dare to dream and take chances.
Do you have any further musical releases planned that you can tell us about?
Wild Fire: We sure do! We have five additional songs that are completed and will be released throughout the year. We have some very vulnerable material in these songs that we feel will help many people out there. We also have some fun songs like We Got The Summer. It’s a great mix of emotions in the new songs.
Finally, is there a message you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?
Wild Fire: We just want your readers to join us on our journey. We want to meet them and welcome them into our musical world. We host Instagram Live’s every Sunday from 7PM-8PM CST. That’s a great way to meet us and come on our lives to discuss anything they want.
A link to the single will be posted on the day of release.
