Angeelia (Eesti Laul 2017): “Sometimes you have to fight for it, take risks and have faith a lot!”

With Eesti Laul 2017 not far away, I have had the lucky privilege of speaking to Angeelia, who will be taking part in the contest, with her song “We Ride With Our Flow”. You can check out the full interview below.

Hiya Angeelia, thank you so much for agreeing to this interview. Could you start of by telling me a little bit about yourself?

Angeelia: Hey Jess! Hope you’re all good, well, I’d probably describe myself as one artistic soul. I love to create music, also love to design, to cook, draw, take photos and everything that keeps my mind and senses wide opened..

A massive congratulations on making it to the Semi Finals of Eesti Laul 2017. What was your reaction when you first heard the news?

Angeelia: I was utterly happy and thankful. Very excited, yet calm, somehow my inner voice told me everything will go just fine 🙂

Your song “We Ride With Our Flow” is simply amazing. Could you tell me what the song personally means to you and the inspiration behind it?

Angeelia: It means following the flow you have in you. Making choices by heart and intuition, you feel you’re on the right path, everything just flows naturally in harmony. Still, sometimes you have to fight for it, take risks and have faith a lot!

Carrying on from the previous question, what was your inspiration to submit “We Ride With Our Flow” into Eesti Laul 2017?

Angeelia: Life itself 🙂

Now, I would like to ask a few questions to get to know you a little better. What do you like to get up to when you are not performing?

Angeelia: Spend time with my loved ones. Listen and create.. breathe in the nature.

When did you first realise that singing was what you wanted to do in life?

Angeelia: I feel actually it wasn’t something I had to find or realise.. It was more like knowing. Since my baby years I loved to sing and dance.. music and singing chose me. That’s where I felt the healing, freedom and home.

If you could duet with any musician in the world who would it be and why?

Angeelia: To leave out all the world’s famous artists defined by name, I just like to perform with a person who shares the same passion and vision in music and ofcourse style also has to match. It has a true power! I’m glad that one of these persons is my lifepartner, also musician Mick Pedaja I am already performing with.

Finally, what would it mean to you to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017?

Angeelia: It would be a big privilege for me and I would do my best to show Estonia’s music from a bit of a different angle by the indie-alternative style, that you do not see in the Eurovision often if at all.
