Singer-songwriter Maggie Cubillos is ready to make her mark on the global music scene through the release of the debut single “Old Shoes”!
This debut release was produced by Steve Ornest (who also plays guitar on the track) at LA’s Total Access Recording (Black Flag, No Doubt, Guns N’ Roses, Sublime) along with bassist Matt Rubano (Taking Back Sunday, Outasite, Lauryn Hill) and drummer Rob Humphreys (Kacey Musgraves Jason Mraz, Elle King).
Speaking about the song, Maggie said ““Old Shoes” is about embracing change and moving forward. I wrote it at a time in my life where I felt like everything around me had shifted and I had to decide whether I should stay afraid or embrace it and grow with it. I think writing this song helped me realize that sometimes change isn’t as scary as we think and there are so many good things that can come from it.”
The song features a slower-paced instrumental that harbours a host of indie elements, which carries across the journey behind the lyrical foundation of this song to create a natural connection with listeners.
Through this release, Maggie delivers a stunning vocal display that beautifully echoes the natural tones that exude from the lyrical core of this vibrantly subdued composition.
This debut single is a stunning display of creative talent & a showcase of the naturally drawing & passionate nature this gifted artist’s vocals possess.
