Originating from Vilnius, Lithuania, Freya Alley is a free-spirited singer-songwriter based in London, who combines ambient pop music alongside stylish electronic harmonies to create a uniquely charismatic musical sensation.
Not long ago, Freya released the brand new single “A Woman’s Heart” & has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her latest musical piece. You can check out what Freya said below.
Hey Freya, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?
Freya: Hey Jess, thanks for your time and this opportunity to introduce my latest release “A Woman’s Heart” to your audience. I am a singer-songstress, writing ambient, electronic, pop songs and trying to make the world more loving and a better place
You recently released the new single “A Woman’s Heart”. How did the idea for this song come together?
Freya: I’ve always been a free soul who wanted to live my life in the way I wanted. However, I’ve found myself trapped in various concepts, social norms, programmes and beliefs that weren’t mine but I perceived them as mine. As women and girls, we have to meet a lot of expectations and play certain roles that might not feel right and authentic to us. Directly or indirectly, we are questioned by our choices, our feelings and emotions.
Did you always plan to release “A Woman’s Heart” as a single?
Freya: Yes, I did because, first of all, I think it’s one of my favourite songs but also, the message is a universal one of love and pain.
What does this song personally mean to you?
Freya: “A Woman’s Heart” is about living for now and not letting the past control or distort the feelings and emotions that you have in the present. It’s about moving on, being brave and surrendering to love.
“A Woman’s Heart” is about every woman’s choice to be as she is.
How would you compare the creative process behind this song to your previous releases?
Freya: To be honest, the creative process is quite similar for a lot of my songs, the ideas come pretty naturally to me. However, the magic happens in the studio, working to create sound and a vibe that connects with the lyrics.
