Emerging musician Mia Baron has recently made her mark on the music scene with the release of her emotionally compelling debut single “Hide And Seek”.
Co-written alongside Matt Kahane and Quin Kiu, this debut release sets a firm foundation for this gifted artist to showcase her unique talent to the world.
Mia has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her latest musical release, along with getting to know more from the artist behind the music. Check out the full interview below.
Hey Mia, thank you so much for this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?
Mia: Hi guys, I’m a 13 year old singer from Toronto. I’ve been singing for the past few years and I’m so excited to have released my debut single on May 12th. I’m looking forward to continuing to work on my music and release more songs in the near future.
When did you first discover your passion for music?
Mia: I first discovered my passion for singing in my school choir about 4 years ago and from then on I started vocal coaching and entered a bunch of singing competitions.
Have you always known that you wanted to pursue a career within the music industry?
Mia: Once I discovered my passion for singing I knew I wanted to pursue a successful career in music.
How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?
Mia: My musical style is indie/alternative pop.
You recently released your debut single “Hide And Seek”, which sounds amazing by the way. How did the idea for this song come together?
Mia: The idea came together from a middle school experience, where I was a new kid with no friends. I used to hide in the bathroom, wishing for someone to realize I’m gone and to come find me, but nobody did.
Did you always plan to release “Hide And Seek” as a single?
Mia: Yes.
What does this song personally mean to you?
Mia: Hide and Seek is close to my heart because it’s a personal story that happened to me. It’s an experience that I grew from and learned important life lessons.
If listeners could take something away from this song, what would you like it to be?
Mia: To be confident in yourself, to know that there’s always someone that needs you, that you matter to someone, and that every dark time in our lives eventually passes.
What are some of the things you enjoy outside of music?
Mia: Hanging out with friends, listening to music, going to the mall shopping with friends.
If you could perform a duet with anyone in the world, who would you choose?
Mia: I would choose The Weeknd and Madison Beer. I love their music.
What song do you always keep on your playlist?
Mia: Currently it’s Déjà Vu by Olivia Rodrigo.
Which three words best describe you?
Mia: Very goal oriented, stubborn, adventurous.
What is one item you can’t live without?
Mia: My phone.
If you could possess any superpower, which would you choose & why?
Mia: Time travel, so that I’m able to go back in time and fix any mistakes I’ve ever made.

Mia: Don’t be shy to put yourself out there and get what you want, because you’ll regret staying silent. But at the same time, always be yourself.
