Country-rock songstress Bailey James has gripped the attention of music lovers globally through her variety of powerhouse vocals & musical artistry.
Recently, Bailey teamed-up alongside rock singer-songwriter Mia Morris to collaborate on the brand new passion-filled single “Bitter”.
Written alongside “I Feel a Sin” co-writer Kelli Johnson and producer Mia Morris, this latest release has swiftly reached over 100,000 streams on Spotify alone.
Now, Bailey has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her latest musical collaboration. You can check out what she had to say below.
Hey Bailey, thank you for this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?
Bailey: Thank you for having me. I’m a country/rock/blues singer songwriter based in Nashville Tennessee.
When did you first discover your passion for music?
Bailey: Around 7 or 8. My dad would sing Johnny Cash to me in the car and I’d start to pick up on the lyrics and join in. All the time.
Have you always known that you wanted to pursue a career within the music industry?
Bailey: Yes. From a young age I knew this was it for me.
How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?
Bailey: Soulful. Genreless. I just sing what I’m feeling.
You recently collaborated alongside Mia Morris on the new single “Bitter”. How did the idea for this collab come together?
Bailey: I went through a bad friendship breakup. It was messy, and they wouldn’t stop talking bad about me. I kept saying why do you have to be so bitter? I went into the write with this all bubbling in my mind, and “Bitter” came to the surface.
Do you feel that we could see more collaborations between you two in the future?
Bailey: Hopefully! We both are very busy, but I love when we get to work together.
How would you compare the creative process behind this song to your previous releases?
Bailey: So easy. Felt fun because I’m friends with Mia outside of music.
What does the song personally mean to you?
Bailey: Never let anybody take your power away from you.
If listeners could take anything away from this song, what would you like it to be?
Bailey: To be stronger than the challenges facing you.
What advice would you offer someone who was looking to pursue a career within the music industry?
Bailey: Be unique, and don’t be afraid to take risks. Find what sets you apart, and embrace it. Life’s too short to be like everybody else.
Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution.
Bailey: Thank you for listening, and be kind to each other.
