Recently, Alexandra released the brand new singles “People Pleaser” & “Ruins” (alongside Jawny) & has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her latest musical compositions. Find out what she had to say below!

Hey Alexandra, thank you so much for this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?

Alexandra: I’m in my 20’s I started singing when I was young in choir, and have been working on my own music after moving to LA for a guy, and having a really bad breakup.

When did you first discover your passion for music?

Alexandra: I have always loved music, but growing up was too shy to ever pursue it. It was always my dream to become a singer, and I wish I had started earlier.

Have you always known that a career within the music industry was something that you wanted to pursue?

Alexandra: Yes, I honestly think it’s the only career that could make me happy.

How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?

Alexandra: I would say I’m a pop artist, some songs are more R&B, others are electro-pop.

You recently released two new singles “People Pleaser” & “Ruins” (alongside Jawny). How did the idea to release both of these singles come together?

Alexandra: People pleaser is a song that’s very important to me, because I have always been a people pleaser. Afraid for anyone to be mad at me, and needing others approval of me to be happy. I am in the midst of trying to not be like that, knowing that’s only going to hurt me. So that song is about overcoming my weaknesses. Ruins came about because Jawny and I were working on our first of many songs together, and I wanted to do a song about a past relationship, where this person was perfect, but they had an addiction that was ruining our relationship. He also had a similar experience and we wanted to do it from both points of view. I hope that this can help others in a similar situation.

Was there a difference in the way you creatively approached both of these songs?

Alexandra: I think so. One was written from only my point of view, and the other we worked with both points of view to create something meaningful to both of us.

What does both of these songs personally mean to you?

Alexandra: I feel like a lot of my relationships have been a mess, and telling these stories through music really means a lot to me, and also helps me get through it. Jawny who I did Ruins with, we actually ended up starting a relationship through making music together, and it ended pretty badly as well, so I think it was like literally living through these songs. We also have an album coming out soon, and it goes through a lot of issues that other people have as well. So I’m excited for everyone to hear them.

If listeners could take something away from each of these songs, what would you like it to be?

Alexandra: Life happens, and all you can do is learn from it and keep going. No matter how hard it may seem, or might be, you have to pick yourself, have faith, and keep trying. You are really the only person who can hold yourself back.

If you could perform a duet with anyone in the world, who would you choose & why?

Alexandra: Ed Sheeran. I love his tone, and how he sings with so much feeling in his voice. I think he’s amazing.

What song do you always keep on your playlist & why?

Alexandra: Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin. It takes me to another place, and it’s just always so good. My favorite song of all time.

What are some of the things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Alexandra: I enjoy spending time working on music, spending time with friends and my twin sister and family. I enjoy spending time with my Beagle named Beagle. I love to dance, and to come up with creative ways to share my music and experiences with others.

What advice would you offer someone who was looking to pursue a career within the music industry?

Alexandra: Don’t give up if it’s something you really want. Don’t waste time, enjoy every day fully, and don’t let you get in your own way. There will always be hurt along the way, but you can’t let it stop you from pursuing something for you.

Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?
