Interview: Jayme Lynne Discusses The Release Of Her Latest Single “Sincerely, His Ex”!

Upcoming country-pop singer-songwriter Jayme Lynne has gained momentum within the current music scene with her heartfelt musical style & angelic vocals, which has received high praise from critics & fans alike.

Recently, Jayme released the uptempo girl-power anthem “Sincerely, His Ex” & has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about this latest musical piece.

Hey Jayme, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?

Jayme: Hi Jess! My pleasure – thank you for reaching out to me to do this interview!  So I’m a country singer and songwriter from Georgina, Ontario. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve had that creator and performer bone in me. I loved making up my own little dances and songs, and I loved putting on shows for my family and friends (not sure if they did, but oh well, haha).  Then as I grew up I took dance classes and music lessons, performing anywhere and everywhere I could! I eventually got my first paid gigs performing as a Taylor Swift tribute artist (one of my idols).

Over the years I have performed hundreds of shows with my band in country bars, fairs, festivals, private events, etc.  Fast forward to 2020, when I finally started releasing my own music!  I put out 3 singles that I wrote in 2020: “Little Bit of First Kiss,” “On My Way,” and my most recent, “Sincerely, His Ex.”

I’m a born dreamer and have always been driven by passion.  I have so many ideas and goals dancing around in my mind all of the time and I am just SO excited for what the future holds!  And if anyone really wants to get to know me, just follow me on Instagram, haha.  Along with keeping you updated on my music and life, I truly don’t hold back my goofiness (especially on my live streams, hahaha), and I love making new friends! So definitely connect with me over there @jaymelynnemusic

When can you first recall discovering your passion for music & knowing that it was a career that you wanted to pursue?

Jayme: I honestly have always loved music.  I love singing, writing songs, and getting to sing them for people.  Though, when I discovered Taylor Swift and saw her telling her stories, performing and dancing around on stage, doing what she loves, and connecting with her fans on a level that makes them feel like family… that’s when that spark lit inside of me.  That’s when I felt that fire in my soul whisper to me that I needed to chase a career as a singer & songwriter.

How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?

Jayme: New Country/Country Pop.  You may also hear some of my musical influences shine through my current and/or upcoming music, such as: Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris, Avril Lavinge, Kelsea Ballerini, Martina McBride, and Shania Twain.

You recently released your single “Sincerely, His Ex”. How did the idea to create this song first come together?

Jayme: Honestly, I was reflecting upon a past relationship.

What is the main inspiration behind the lyrical journey of the song?

Jayme: Though this song was born from a personal experience, I continued writing it for women everywhere, who have been put through hell and deserve way better.  I was also inspired by my incredible community of women that I feel so blessed to have in my life, some of which have been through similar experiences.  We lift each other up, cheer each other on, lend a shoulder to cry on, and are always there for one another no matter what.  So I wrote this song for those women and everyone listening.

What does the song personally mean to you?

Jayme: Strength. Girl-power. Worthy of love. Resilience.

If listeners could take away anything from listening to this song, what would you like it to be?

Jayme: “Sincerely, His Ex” is a ‘heads up’ letter to an ex’s new love interest.  I hope that it empowers women who have gone through a similar experience to lean on each other, look out for one another, and never settle.

What are some of the things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Jayme: Aside from music and writing, I also love working out, dancing, watching friends, planning my dream life on Pinterest, Photography (which I just started my own little side business in), watching movies with a big bowl of popcorn and a glass of wine, and spending quality time with my family, friends, and boyfriend.

What was the last album you listened to & did you enjoy it?

Jayme: Um, The Lord of The Rings Soundtrack, haha!  My boyfriend and I are in the middle of a LOTR marathon so I put the soundtrack on since, the melodies were stuck in my head (yes, I enjoyed it).  We’re watching The Hobbits next!

If you could perform a duet with anyone on the planet, who would you choose?

Jayme: Since I am a ‘dream-big’ kind of girl, I’m gonna say Taylor Swift!  That would literally make my life!

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you about pursuing a career within the music industry?

Jayme: I was in Nashville a while ago recording a song I wrote.  I didn’t connect with this song in the slightest – I was honestly just trying to be somebody else (I was like 15 or something).  Another singer was there recording as well, and she may not even remember saying this (or even remember me at all haha), but she said something about the importance of being authentic and true to yourself.  It may seem like an obvious piece of advice… but it meant a lot to me.

Finally, is there anything you would like to say to the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

Jayme: Drink your water, do a little dance, and don’t take life tooooo seriously – let’s have some fun and spread some love!
