Interview: Meghan Pulles Discusses The Release Of Her Latest Single “Ghost Of Sound”!

Upcoming Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Meghan Pulles has been making her mark within the current music scene with her vibrant musical style that has gained praise from fans & critics from across the globe.

Meghan recently released her brand new single “Ghost Of Sound” & has kindly spoken with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her stunning musical piece. Find out what she had to say below.

Hey Meghan, thank you so much for agreeing to this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?

Meghan: Hi Jess, thank you soo much for having me. I’m an emo-positive singer-songwriter in Brooklyn, NYC. I write music that helps people heal, and give them a musical hug. I love writing songs that communicate my own story to try to help others essentially.

When did you first discover your passion for music?

Meghan: I have loved music since I was 5 years old 🙂 I feel like I came out of the womb loving music, my father used to play guitar for me when I was a baby so I think it was transmitted to me.

Have you always known that a music career was something you wanted to pursue?

Meghan: I did know that I wanted to do something with music since college, I studied to be an opera singer, but I would always write songs in my bedroom and it took awhile for me to realize that writing songs was what I was put on this earth to do and what brought me the most fulfillment artistically.

How would you describe your musical style to someone unfamiliar with your music?

Meghan: I would describe my music as “emo-positive” and in your feelings in a positive way. I really focus very much on the emotion and the lyrics in my music, and I transmit that into light. I would also say “darkness into light” is definitely my vibe too.

You have just released your brand new single “Ghost Of Sound”, how did the idea to create this song come together?

Meghan: This song came out of the fear of losing my hearing as a child. I have had 2 ear surgeries (most recent one in August of 2020), and this song is me owning that fear and also letting it empower me and others to own the struggles and not let people be defined by their struggles. We all are different in our own way, we all have different voices, and it’s okay to feel anxious or overwhelmed sometimes, we are human. You have to own your own unique voice while you are here on this earth.

What does the song personally mean to you?

Meghan: This song means everything to me because it was written before I even knew I had to have surgery, it was sort of a foretelling of what I had to go through before I had to. This song is also a reminder of how strong I am and how I can get through these hard times with my ears.

If listeners could take a message away from this song, what would you like it to be?

Meghan: I want them to feel empowered by the struggles they face, I want them to not feel ashamed to be anxious, or triggered by whatever childhood ghosts or traumas haunt them. It’s ok to not be ok sometimes, and they are stronger than they think.

Do you have any upcoming musical releases that you can tell us about during this time?

Meghan: I have a lot in the works, I think my next single should be coming out around February 😉

What advice would you offer someone who was looking to pursue a career within the music industry?

Meghan: I would say just be authentic, genuine, and communicate your heart and soul and your listeners will receive it.

Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?

Meghan: I know these are some weird, and dark times, remember to try to do something for yourself- meditate, read a book, paint, write a song, start a gratitude journal, etc. Love you guys!
