Upcoming Bath’s alt-americana four-piece Young Martyrs return with their brand new single “Is There Anybody Out There?”, which marks the first single to be taken from their upcoming third studio album ‘Might Just Be Enough’, arriving in the Summer of 2026.
Their new single was recorded and produced as a three-piece with guitarist Rich Beeby also taking on bass duties for the album before the band then finalised their line up with the recent addition of bassist Phil Smith. It was recorded at both Real World Studios in Bath and Indefra Studios in Frome by the band themselves with co-production from Sebastian Brice and engineering from Ben Koch. The track was mastered by Christian Wright (Ed Sheeran, Franz Ferdinand, Blur, Laura Marling) at London’s Abbey Road Studios.
Discussing the lyrical themes explored throughout the single, vocalist and lyricist Tom Corneill says, “‘Is There Anybody Out There?’ is a song everyone needs right now; a song about desperately seeking connection and answers. It’s about feeling adrift as time slips past you, over you, under you. It’s about loss and missing someone, and missing the good things you once had. It’s about growing up and realising you had no idea that while the best times were happening, maybe you were meant to be holding onto them tighter because one day the moment will have passed.”
This Americana ballad features a gently paced instrumental that lays the foundation for the lyrical factors to play a vital role and emphasise the spirited heart of this composition. Each verse allows Tom’s vocals to bring a vibrantly expressive performance that highlights the raw textures of his vocals and lays claim to this band’s style.
