UK country artist and singer-songwriter Sarah Louise is opening her heart this spring with two powerful new releases that explore the highs and lows of love. Her tender country cover of “Simply the Best” arrives on Friday, March 28th, 2025 — her birthday — followed by her soul-baring original “It’s Over Now” on Friday, April 18th.
Sarah’s first release reimagines the classic anthem “Simply The Best” with a country twist that highlights the quiet strength of devotion. However, the upcoming single “It’s Over Now” offers a different perspective. It’s a personal original that reflects on the moment of truth when a relationship ends.
Sarah has kindly taken the time to chat with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution regarding these releases and the inspiration behind their releases. You can check out the full interview below.
Hey Sarah Louise, thank you for this interview. Can you start by introducing yourself to readers who might be unfamiliar with your music?
Sarah Louise: Hey! Thanks so much for having me. I’m Sarah Louise, a singer-songwriter from Suffolk. My music leans into country and acoustic vibes, often telling real stories about love, heartbreak, and everything in between. I’ve been lucky to have a few number ones on iTunes and to share my songs with people all over the world which still blows my mind a bit!
When did you first discover your passion for music?
Sarah Louise: Honestly, I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. I think I properly fell in love with real song writing in my teens I realised it was a way to make sense of things going on in my head and heart. Once I started performing live, I was hooked.
How would you currently describe your musical style?
Sarah Louise: I’d say it’s a mix of modern country, acoustic, folk, soul, bluesy and a bit of singer-songwriter storytelling. I love raw lyrics and stripped-back moments music that feels honest and heartfelt.
You recently released your version of “Simply The Best”. How did the idea of releasing this as a single come together?
Sarah Louise: It started as part of my ‘Lost in Country’ series, where I take iconic songs and reimagine them with a country twist. Andy Pike, who also helped me bring to life a country version of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, worked on this one with me too. I actually saw Tina Turner live when I was younger she was the first pop queen I ever saw in concert — so this release is a bit of a tribute to her. I’ve always loved her energy and power, and I wanted to honour that in a more stripped-back, emotional way.
What does it mean to you to release this rendition to the world?
Sarah Louise: It’s such an iconic song, so it’s a bit nerve-wracking in a way! But I put so much love into it, and I think my version brings out the tenderness in the lyrics. I wanted it to feel like a warm hug to someone you love or even to yourself and if it brings comfort or connection to someone, then I’ve done my job.
Following this release, on April 18th, you’ll release the new single “It’s Over Now”. What inspired you to create this song?
Sarah Louise: ‘It’s Over Now’ came from a really raw place. It’s about that moment when you finally stop holding onto someone or something that’s not right anymore. I wrote it when I was working through a lot emotionally, it’s definitely one of my more personal songs.
What does this song personally mean to you?
Sarah Louise: For me, it marks a turning point. It’s not angry or dramatic, it’s just quiet acceptance. That feeling of finally letting go, even if it still hurts. It’s a big exhale one that I was finding very hard to do.
If listeners could take something away from this song, what would you like it to be?
Sarah Louise: I’d love for people to feel seen if they’re going through something similar. Sometimes we don’t talk enough about the quiet, private side of heartbreak the parts that ache, where you feel broken but you’re just trying to find peace again. I hope the song helps with that.
What inspired you to share these singles a few weeks apart?
Sarah Louise: I wanted to tell a bit of a story. ‘Simply the Best’ is this beautiful, hopeful love song and then ‘It’s Over Now’ is the other side of that coin. It felt right to share both perspectives close together, almost like a musical conversation.
Are there any further releases planned that you can currently tell us about?
Sarah Louise: Yes! I’ve got a few more country covers coming, one each month , some collaborations and some original songs lined up too. I’m really excited about what’s to come this year. There’s a lot of new music on the way!
What message would you share with someone looking to pursue a career within the music industry?
Sarah Louise: Be true to who you are, even when it feels tough. There’s no one right way to do this, you’ve just got to keep creating, keep learning, and surround yourself with good people, do what you have to do to get to where you need it be, which is why I go busking and don’t compare your journey to someone else’s as your path is your own.
Finally, is there a message that you would like to share with the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?
Sarah Louise: Just a big thank you, really. If you’re reading this, I appreciate you! Whether you’re listening to my music or just finding out about me now I hope something I create brings you a little light. 🌻 Keep being fierce, being fabulous… and don’t forget to be kind to yourself too!
