REVIEW: Half A Chance Share The Personal Single “Little Problems”!

Bridport/Dorset, England and Comox Valley, BC-based Americana Duo Half A Chance address nuances of Fertility issues with the brand new personal single “Little Problems”.

For musical and married partners Joey Clarkson and Peter Dixon, known as the Americana duo Half A Chance, trying to bring a little bundle of joy into the world has been challenging. While sadly, the social discourse, general attitudes, & sensitivity towards the issue remain problematic, the group has addressed the issue head on with
the smart and engaging roots pop single “Little Problems,” a tune released during Britain’s National Fertility Week in November. It’s also a stellar track that glides effortlessly while tackling a complex issue that resonates with so many couples.

“Little Problems” was produced by Tyler Spicer at Namm Studios in Trowbridge, England & mixed by Todd Peterson in Nashville while mastered by the Grammy-nominated Sam Moses at Nashville’s Moses Mastering. Clarkson provides strong lead vocals & backing vocals reminiscent of Chrissie Hynde & Stevie Nicks while Dixon adds
backing vocals, & plays the saxophone & bass guitar. “Little Problems” is fleshed out by cornet player Catriona Christie & trombonist David Huntriss.

This latest release features an ear-catching yet subtle country/Americana instrumental that allows the lyrics to stay front & centre to deliver a very personal message that grabs your instant attention.

Throughout the song, Joey shares a touching performance that not only brings the personally expressing lyrical storytelling to motion but simultaneously showcases the charismatically channelling vocals that she possesses.

This song speaks volumes on so many levels & is something truly special that touches on a variety of levels. Half A Chance is a dynamic duo who share personally drawing music & heartfelt vocals to create an interactive listening experience that can’t be ignored.
