REVIEW: Chasing Kites Unveil The Personal Single “The Woods”!

Following the recent success of their single “Collide”, Bristol-based indie-rock group Chasing Kites have unveiled their latest release “The Woods”.

Their latest single, ‘The Woods’, recorded with Sam Winfield (Amber Run, Bring Me The Horizon) at Studio 91, depicts the near-death experience of frontman Donelly during his childhood. Using distorted guitars and fading rhythm to give the track more bite, the duality of darkness and energy that’s found in the song keeps your attention closely captured within the band’s own sea of sounds.

Discussing the inspirations behind the single, vocalist and lyricist Matt Donnelly explains, “The track tells the story of how I went missing when I was 18. Lyrically, the focus is on the thoughts that were going through my head at the point where I believed I wasn’t going to make it through the ordeal. It is because of this story that the track will always feel very raw.”

The song carries a captivating array of 80s-influenced synths that feature promptly alongside the lyrical heart of this release & allow you to focus solely on the emotional narrative of this moving composition.

This song is another example of the musical versatility this creative group possess & highlights their unique factors as musicians. Chasing Kites is surely a name to keep an eye on.
