Speaking about the release, Peyton shared “I wrote ‘Before You Go’ a few years ago when a few things were changing in my life, and I started reflecting on how hard it can be to say goodbye to something or someone you love, or change in general. It’s about those situations where you know something has to end, and you know that initial goodbye is going to be tough. You’ll move on eventually, but you want one last golden moment to remember it before it’s over. This was actually the first song I recorded remotely with Harper James (producer) during quarantine in 2020, so I’m so glad people finally get to hear it”,
