Upcoming Singapore-based, Italian musician Matilde G has released the brand new triumphant pop track “Hypocrite,”, which is about being cheated on but coming out on the other side with a stronger sense of self-worth.
Speaking about the song, Matilde G said “This song is about a guy who cheated on me. It’s sadly a relevant topic for a lot of us who are in teen relationships. Am I the victim of a hypocritical guy? The cheater is a victim of himself and his lies. Better to kick back and go further with strength and awareness of your own value, which is never determined by the others”.
She continues “I wrote ‘Hypocrite’ to send a strong message to those who have been cheated on: do not be ashamed because the true loser is the cheater! I went through painful experiences that marked me but also made me stronger and more determined not to allow anyone to manipulate or hurt me.”
Co-written alongside Isak Alvendal, Karl-Oskar Gummesson, & Josefin Glenmark. This latest release is an uptempo pop anthem that carries a notion of bass & electro elements to create an ear-catching track that you can easily find yourself bopping along from the very first listen.
The lyrical core of this song speaks unique volumes that everyone can connect with on one level or another, which help’s to build a natural connection from the very first listen.
Throughout this song, Matilde G delivers a sassy vocal performance that is full of power & determination. The way this gifted artist passionately emphasises her vocals on the chorus is undoubtedly a reflection of the lyrical heart of this empowering composition.
