Upcoming singer-songwriter Sabrina Ponte continues to make her presence felt on the music scene by producing a string of noticeable musical releases & showcasing her passionately propelling vocals.
Not long ago, Sabrina unveiled the brand new single “A Chance Of Whiskey”, which was co-written alongside Andreas Eriksson & Jake Lindholm.
In addition to singing, Sabrina is also a signed model/actress, & is currently competing in the Miss USA organization. In the end, Sabrina seeks to make a difference within her community, and she uses the power of music to reach that goal. Sabrina is incredibly passionate about giving back & has helped to fundraise thousands of dollars for The Children’s Miracle Network, women’s scholarships, and organizations that help to feed the hungry in Tennessee.
Sabrina was also recently crowned Miss Music City USA 2023, and will be competing to win the Miss Tennessee USA Crown in March of 2023.
Sabrina has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution regarding her latest single “Chance Of Whiskey”, being crowned Miss Music City USA 2023, & competing for Miss Tennessee USA. You can find the full interview below.
Hey Sabrina, thank you for this interview. Can you start by telling readers a little bit about yourself?
Sabrina: Hi! Of course, thank you for having me. I am a Nashville-based singer-songwriter and Berklee College of Music graduate originally from Massachusetts.
When did you first discover your passion for music?
Sabrina: Since I physically was able to make sounds my parents said I would sing. At six months I actually woke them up when they were close to missing a flight because I was singing in my crib. Music has always been a big part of my life and I truly believe in the positive effects music can have on people.
Have you always wanted to pursue a career within the music industry?
Sabrina: I have and I am blessed to have a family that supports and encourages music. I actually just joined the Nashville Symphony Chorus and am looking forward to getting to perform with them now as well.
How would you currently describe your musical style?
Sabrina: I have a variety of influences. I really love telling stories and really just listening to what I think the song needs while in the creation process. I would say I am more pop singer-songwriter as of now.
You just released the single “Chance Of Whiskey”. How did the idea for this song come together?
Sabrina: I really wanted to write a song with the line “chance of whiskey,” like how you can predict a chance of rain. The line “chance of whiskey” was just sticking out to me and was something I thought would be a fun concept to write on.
How would you compare the creative process behind this song to earlier releases?
Sabrina: My last release “Black Roses,” I wrote on my own but I had two co-writes, Andreas Eriksson and Jake Lindholm with “Chance of Whiskey.”
Did you always plan to release “Chance of Whiskey” as a single?
Sabrina: I did! It has been a song I really loved and was waiting for the right time.
What does this song personally mean to you?
Sabrina: Some situations you really just know there’s a chance of whiskey and it’s okay to be spontaneous!
If listeners could take something away from this song, what would you like it to be?
Sabrina: Not taking life too seriously and knowing that anything can happen even if it isn’t in the plan.
Recently you were crowned Miss Music City USA 2023 (massive congrats by the way!) & will be competing to win the Miss Tennessee USA Crown in March of 2023. How did the idea to enter come together?
Sabrina: Thank you so much! I competed and placed last year and had an amazing experience. I find competing to be very rewarding and enjoy the motivation to be the best version of myself.
What does it mean to you to be Miss Music City USA 2023 & be competing for Miss Tennessee USA?
Sabrina: I want to use my platform to make a difference. I am so honoured to be Miss Music City 2023 and look forward to continuing to push myself to be the best representation of the title. Getting the opportunity to show the judges how prepared I am for the job of Miss Tennessee is something I am very grateful for.
What are some of the things you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Sabrina: I love embracing a healthy lifestyle so cooking, working out, and spending time outside. I try to maintain a good balance.
How would your friends describe you in three words?
Sabrina: Empathetic, hardworking, & thoughtful.
If you could perform a duet with anyone in the world, who would you choose & why?
Sabrina: So many great options! I think it would be cool to do a song with The Chain-smokers or Justin Bieber.
What song do you always keep on your playlist?
Sabrina: Dancing Queen.
If you could possess any superpower, what would you choose & why?
Sabrina: To heal.
What advice would you offer to someone who was looking to pursue a career in the music industry?
Sabrina: A 90% is still an A, so don’t let any doubts or lack of “perfection” stop you from going for it.
