London-based Aussie, Kieran Lancini recently made his triumphant return to the music scene with the phenomenal single “I Need You”, which received enormous admiration from fans & critics alike.
Now, Kieran is looking to capture the attention of music lovers once again with the forthcoming single “Hail Mary”, which is set to grace airwaves from April 8th.
Kieran & has kindly taken the time to speak with Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about his upcoming release & you can check out what he had to say below.
Hey Kieran, thank you for this interview. Can you start by telling the readers a little bit about yourself?
Kieran: Thanks so much for having me. I am originally from Australia, but have been calling the UK my home for the past 15 years. I had a small bit of success in Australia as a country music artist after winning a national competition called Star Maker. It was a crazy time – i released 2 top 10 singles and got to travel the country a few times over and met the most amazing people along the way. I had a bit of a break in music and recently have found my love for it again after quite some time and released my first single in 18 years last year – The Reason – which kicked things off again.
You are set to release the new single “Hail Mary” on the 8th of April. How did the idea for this single come together?
Kieran: The idea for the single came about after the horrendous year we all had with the lockdowns and daily death rates rising due to Covid-19. The world was quite a dark place for many people (me included). During this time I found myself digging deep to find strength and to be positive with all that was going on around me. This song is about finding faith within yourself and not being afraid to ask for help – sometimes we just need a bit of a miracle to get through.
How would you compare the creative process behind this song, to your previous releases?
Kieran: The song was written with my mate Phil Barton who lives in Nashville and we had a zoom writing session over the Christmas and New Year holidays. All I had when we started the writing session was the title Hail Mary. Other than that I just had a blank sheet of paper. I was telling Phil about my experiences during the year and the song just naturally formed itself and was written in less than an hour. I think this song also marks a growth in myself and also my songwriting skills. I am really quite proud of it.
Did you always plan to release “Hail Mary” as a single?
Kieran: Yes – as soon as I finished writing it I knew I wanted it to be my next single. I think it has a great message and a universal theme – and I hope people feel connected to it when they listen.
What does this song personally mean to you?
Kieran: It marks important growth for me as a songwriter and I am proud of the message the song portrays. Don’t be afraid to ask for help – whether it be from your family, friends or from the universe or great power.
If listeners could take anything away from this song, what would you like it to be?
Kieran: To be open to be honest and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
