This emotional song touches on the feelings endured during the climax of a toxic relationship & the journey undertaken to rediscover the person you want to be.
Speaking about her upcoming release, Melotika said “I wrote this song when I was 19. I think the original lyrics were called Misery or Victim.”
She shares “It was after a bad break up in 2012. Spring 2020 I decided to write analbum and finish up some unfinished songs. After going back and forth with my producer for months, ‘Beautiful Disguise’ was the last song we completed for the album, and ironically the first song to be released.”
She continued “‘The Devil inside of me is the devil inside of you when you got nowhere else to go’ must bemy favorite lyric I’ve ever written,” she adds. “This song has been reconstructed so many times. This lyric describes a misery loves company type of feeling. Sometimes we get so caught up in messy situations and feel trapped. In the end, beauty is the disguise, and at the time I needed to break free from this deep down, toxic person.”
The song features an uptempo backing track that infuses pop & electro-dance elements to create a mesmerizing 80s aesthetic that features the capabilities to build an authentically heartfelt connection with audiences from the very first listen.
Melotika delivers a moving performance that reflects the raw nature within the lyrical aspect of this emotionally charged musical piece & highlights the unique characteristics that feature throughout her distinguishing vocal range.
