Upcoming Bristol based singer-songwriter Rose Bruford has spoken to Fierce & Fabulous Revolution about her musical journey so far & her hopes for the future!
This rising musician has performed at a number of festivals & gigs around the UK & is swiftly making waves within the music scene. Check out what she had to say below.
Hey Rose, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Can you start by telling us about yourself?
So my name is Rose Bruford. I am 15, soon to be 16 and I am in my last year of school. I want to go on to study musical theatre or become a neonatal nurse/midwife/maternity care assistant.
When did you first discover your love for music?
I have been talking since I could breathe! My mum said that I would just sing anything and from about the age of three I used to pretend to be Lady Gaga. I don’t ever remember starting singing as I was so young.
How would you describe your musical style?
I would describe my music style as broad range. I mostly sing pop and musical theatre but I try to incorporate different styles depending on my audience.
Who inspires you most with your music?
I like artists such as Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston and Lady Gaga – complete power houses. I also admire people like Taylor Swift who is incredibly talented at song writing and have softer voices. My goal is to be a sell out artist with an edgy look and tour the world. A bit like Little Mix.
Are there any musical releases planned for the future that you tell us about?
I am currently working on a song which is quite different to my usual style. It’s very electronic and dancy but I really like it because it’s catchy.
When you are not performing, what do you like to get up to in your spare time? Any Hobbies?
I listen to music a lot. I am enrolled in the Police Cadets, I love crime and am fascinated by all that goes with it. I love make up and fashion so I spend a lot of my time watching tutorials and trying to be a social influencer! I love exercising, frequently going to the gym, swimming and playing rugby for a local team – North Bristol Rugby FC.
What was the first album you ever brought & do you still listen to it?
My first album was Little Mix and have listened to them for years. My favourite song of theirs is ‘Women Like Me.’
What song do you always keep on your playlist & why?
I always listen to ‘My Heart will Go On’ by Celine Dion. I love it because it tells the most amazing love story and it’s from my favourite film. I watched The Great Gatsby the other day and now have Lana Del Ray’s song, ‘Young and Beautiful’ on repeat.
If you could collaborate with any musician, who would it be & why?
I would love to work with either Cardi B, Little Mix or Selena Gomez. Cardi B – I lover her music and I think a rap section in a pop song makes it more interesting at times. Little Mix and Selena Gomez because have I admired them for years.
Finally, Is there anything you would like to say to the readers of Fierce & Fabulous Revolution?
